Hey Friends! During this season of COVID-19, Korey and I have been praying about how we can help our local community in any way possible! We’ve decided to create this series of “Crafternoons” to provide you with a few arts and crafts projects for your kiddos to create while they’re in this season of being cooped up at home!
We will be sharing new project vlogs every Tuesday & Thursday at 1 pm CT! I can’t wait to create with everyone! I can’t wait to see what all the kiddos will make, please send any photos of you guys creating at home together our way! We love seeing families using this time to create and spend time together!
Now I’m excited to introduce our first project! Du-du-du-dahh!… CD Dream Catchers!!!
I love this project because most of the materials can be found lying around your house! Dream Catchers were originally created by some Native American cultures as protective symbols that filtered through the good and bad dreams of children. Their nets were thought to catch the bad dreams, protecting the sleeping little ones while good dreams would slide down the feathers and into the little minds. Our dream catchers are going to be very different from the original artworks of the Native American’s, but we can still use them as a chance to weave, create, and discuss our dreams.
As you weave, take time to ask your kids about their good dreams, their hopes, and wishes and how they can take action towards making those dreams happen. Also ask them about their bad dreams, fears, and worries. Take this moment to discuss how they can trust God to be with them in facing their fears. Help them think about how they can be brave and find comfort past their fears.
Get ready to create your own CD Dream Catchers…
