Tuesday Crafternoon: DIY Rain Stick

Happy Crafternoon! Today we are going to create a little something to add some music to our lives! In this episode we make our very own rain sticks! We will build our instruments and then you can choose how to decorate them, however you’d like! I chose to use washi tape as my decoration. Wrapping paper, scrapbook paper, fabric, or foil would all be great decoration supplies as well!

The magic in rain sticks is when you twist them slowly from side to side they beginning making a sound that’s very similar to falling rain. In ancient cultures, they were believed to help bring rainfall to the farmland. You can put anything from rice, seeds, beans, or beads inside your rain stick! You can experiment with different fillings and listen for the effects on the sounds! Grab your supplies and…
