We are on the path to summer my friends! We celebrated earth day last week and are heading into May. There may still be plenty of rain showers in our future before we finally arrive in summer (my favorite season), but here is a fun little project you can create with your family to anticipate the coming of summer! Today we are making seed bombs! These fun little bundles of seeds are easy to make and then you can just throw them out in your yard when the threat of frost has passed!
My nephew Landon joined me for this crafternoon as he loves helping me water and take care of my plants. He always likes to check on them and see how they’re doing when he comes over! In celebration of Earth Day last week we decided to make a few of our seed bombs look like little globes. Seed bombs don’t need to be planted; they can just be tossed wherever you would like the flowers to grow. I’m going to throw a few into my raised bed here in a few weeks and then Landon took a few home to put in his yard. You just want to make sure to wait to put them outside until all threats of frost have passed for your area. You can find this by googling the last frost date for your town, city, or zone. According to the farmers’ almanac, our last frost date in the Joplin area was April 15. I’m still going to wait until May to throw my seed bombs out because I just want to make sure they stay plenty warm! Grab some seeds and…
