Thursday Crafternoon: Melted Crayon Suncatcher

Can you believe we are already into our fourth week of Crafternoons!?!? I hope you’ve all been enjoying these little afternoons of creativity!

Lately, there has been a trend in neighborhoods to put stuffed animals up in the windows for kids at home to see as they go on walks or bike rides around the neighborhood! It’s such a sweet idea and it got me thinking about hanging suncatchers in the window! Not only would a suncatcher be a fun surprise for a neighbor walking by, but they also filter in sunny color into your home as well!

Today my niece Kendra joins me in making melted crayon suncatchers! I made mine to look like butterflies, but honestly, you could make your suncatcher whatever shape you would like! Hearts, ladybugs, cars, airplanes! Just print off an outline of that shape and you can create your own template for whatever shape you want! I’ve attached the butterfly template I used HERE! This is the perfect project for using up and old or stubby crayons you may have laying around the house so go get your crayons and…

Get ready to create your Melted Crayon Suncatchers!
